Wyld, the UK’s first public floating sauna, is launching on 23 November at Princes Dock. The unique venture is merging the tranquillity of Scandinavian sauna culture with Liverpool’s dynamic urban landscape, offering a UK-first and a serene retreat for city dwellers and global visitors alike to breathe and unwind.

Wyld Sauna is situated on Princes Dock, part of Liverpool Waters. With its growing popularity for open-water swimming and an “Excellent” water quality rating from the Environment Agency, Princes Dock provides an ideal safe and pristine environment for Wyld’s community. The dock itself is fitted with four oxygen pumps to maintain water cleanliness, and the area is tested fortnightly by the port owners to ensure optimal swimming conditions. The water reaches a depth of approximately 2 metres, providing a safe and refreshing plunge. Lifeguards will be on-site at Wyld to ensure the safest possible environments.

Nature-Inspired, Sustainable Design and World-Class Architecture

Wyld Sauna is an architectural feat, a sublime structure of design-led engineering, poised floating on
the water, it sits boldly within the Liverpool skyline, yet feels as though it has always been there.
Every aspect of the design has been carefully considered to embrace the nuances of sauna culture,
inspired by the centuries-long traditions of heat therapy originating from Scandinavia, the birthplace
of saunas.

Wyld was built with consideration for the environment, crafted from antimicrobial, sustainably
sourced Thermal Alder wood and surrounded by native plant life supporting local biodiversity. Wyld
Sauna was designed to compliment the surrounding areas utilising a clean aesthetic offering a
low-impact health retreat within Liverpool’s iconic docks.

Wyld is for Everyone

Wyld aims to be world-class, inclusive, and driven by our mission of bringing the physical and mental
healing benefits of saunas to the UK. Scandinavian cultures have long embraced the benefits of
saunas and cold plunge, as a way to fight off seasonal doldrums, escape the stress of day to day life,
and establish new connections with like minded people, it's time the UK follows suit and reap the
benefits of a more connected and grounded approach to living.

Collaborating with The British Sauna Society

The British Sauna Society will support Wyld Sauna during its launch, providing certified specialists to
lead traditional sessions and workshops, including the Finnish Aufguss ritual. Wyld aims to expand
the local sauna community by offering training and certification opportunities to those interested in
becoming professional sauna guides.
